IMH News: Orkideh Behrouzan, M.D., Ph.D. Award

Please join us in congratulating Orkideh Behrouzan, M.D., Ph.D. Assistant Professor, IMH for recently learning that the Committee on Selection of the Best Ph.D. Dissertation of the Year on a Topic of Iranian Studies of the Foundation for Iranian Studies has cited her dissertation “Prozàk Diaries: Post-Rupture Subjectivities and Psychiatric Futures” submitted to the Program in Science, Technology and Society at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with honorable mention for superior scholarship, originality, clarity, and the significant contribution it makes to the field of Iranian Studies. She was told that her work is done brilliantly, deserving of high acclaim.
 
The Committee's first prize for 2011 was awarded to Dr. Roham Alvandi’s dissertation “Nixon, Kissinger and the Shah: US-Iran Relations and the Cold War, 1969-1976” submitted to the Department of Politics and International Relations, the University of Oxford.
 
Notice of the citation will appear in the Foundation’s interactive web, MESA and ISIS journals, in Iran Nameh, and in various Persian language publications.
